Intensive Counseling Team

In our confirmation email, we will share a list of available counselor, and a list of available in-person counselors.

Please send a list of 5-7 counselors you would like to have, in the order of preference, from the list we mail you, within 30 days of receiving our letter.

In-person Intensive clients are given some priority for requested in-person counselors.

Because of the complexities of scheduling, we cannot guarantee that the counselors you choose will be available, but your list will guide us while we build your team. We do our best to schedule you with some of the counselors you choose.

Currently about half of our counselors live outside of Shoreline, many live outside the US. Adding these counselors to our staff has allowed us to keep up with the demand for Intensives as current staff retire or cut their hours (and offer much more diversity in Intensive counselors). We are adding a few in-person counselors here at Shoreline as well.

Currently about 40% of an in-person Intensive is done online with the counselors not being at RCCR, but with counselors from their homes in various parts of the US and/or in other countries.

Preparing for your intensive

People find Intensives work best if they have a few sessions on the subject matter they want to work on in the weeks before the Intensive. We encourage you to have at least a few 50-minute sessions if you are not already. This will prepare you to make the best use of the 50 to 75-minute sessions you’ll have during your Intensive.

You might also think about increasing the number of sessions you have since you will be getting many more sessions during your Intensive than usual.

It can also be helpful to discharge on getting one-way time, “mental health” oppression/liberation, on putting yourself in the hands of counselors that you know and don’t know, and on deciding to have an excellent Intensive no matter what.

Stopping the use of caffeine or other addictive substances more than one week before your Intensive will also enable you to have fuller access to discharge during your Intensive.

Intensive structure

Your Intensive begins with an “Interview.”

In the Interview, you will meet your team of experienced counselors and answer questions to inform them for your sessions, with discharge welcomed.

Throughout the week, each counselor will meet with you individually to counsel you.

On Wednesday, your team will meet and discuss your Intensive.

Your agreement to this Intensive indicates your permission to share your personal information within your counseling team.

The Schedule

Scheduling is done in the weeks before the Intensive. Until you receive your schedule, please be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (16:00) Pacific Time.

You can expect to receive your schedule 3 weeks before your Intensive. It will be in Pacific Time.

On the first day, there will be an Interview and at least one session.

The rest of your week will be 2.5 - 4 hours daily, between 9:00 am – 4.00 pm (16:00) Pacific Time.

Your are part of a larger effort

It can be challenging to schedule our counselors and several Intensive clients into a week. Given this complexity, we cannot make changes to your Intensive dates within six weeks before your Intensive.

If you cannot make it to a scheduled session during the Intensive, the session will be forfeited without refund if we cannot quickly reschedule a replacement session.

RCCR COVID-19 protocols for In-Person Intensives

1.  We ask that you wear an N-95 mask (or the equivalent) during your travels to your intensive.

2.  RCCR uses Plus-Life COVID molecular testing equipment that offers a 99% accuracy rating.

3.  We ask you to arrive masked by 8:15 a.m. on the first morning of your intensive, where you will be tested as a group.

It takes 30 minutes to get the results. We ask you to stay masked during that time.  Assuming negative results, you don’t have to mask that day. We use the same procedure to test the first three mornings of your intensive.

4.  If you test positive for COVID, you may continue your intensive online from your accommodation.

5.  Email rcoffice@rc.org to let us know your COVID vaccination status two weeks before you start your Intensive.

Other Logistics

Please bring your device (laptop, tablet, or smartphone) for online sessions. RCCR uses the Zoom platform for these sessions. Before your Intensive starts, ensure you have the most recent Zoom update.

Your mind is already working to use the resources available to discharge your distresses.  We look forward to being part of your healing process as you clear out the old and reclaim your intelligence and humanness.
